1/8 Tsukamoto Yakumo Goodsmile Company

Name: 1/8 Tsukamoto Yakumo
Anime: School Rumble
Company: Goodsmile Company
Sculpted by: Fumiki Saito
Price: 4200 Yen
Released: October 2005
Added to collection: 7th April 2006

Yakumo arrived this morning! I bought her on sunday on ebay from a UK seller so it only took 5 days to get here. At first I was surprised by the size of the parcel- it was small compared to the other ones- but once I opened it, I wasn't disappointed at all. She's well painted, especially her eyes, and there aren't any major faults on her. Her school uniform was done very well- I like how her skirts spreads on the ground. The base is nice and simple and suits the colour theme of the figure. All of the different joint-lines on the figures are well-concealed (except the joint-line between her face and neck, and between her fringe and the rest of of her hair). The only thing on the down-side are the mould-lines along her arms and thighs which are visible at close inspection.

I've also posted the manga cover from which the sculpt is based on. For the photos, I've changed the style now- I've stopped using a white background and flash. Now I take the photos on a sunny day with bright sunshine coming through my window so there's large contrast between the figure and the background (i.e. my room), and so making the background nearly black.

This figure is pretty rare, and there are bootlegs of all 3 GSC Shcool rumbles on the market
(with box stickers!) so be careful!

oh no, i got the fake one, =*(
can u roughly explain the difference between the features of real and the fake? i can't differentiate between them online. i dont mind paying the price if its only the brand that make the real authenticate.

mmmm..... i haven't seen the fake one in real life or its detailed photo. i guess you can check my photos to see the difference between mine and yours. and thanks again to whoever pointed me to the fake/real issue.

maybe i sucked in telling differences, but i really cannot find any difference between the one in your pic and mine. I haven't seen the real one though. I read thru the forumn and its just a fuss over the stickers and where the product originates from. In my point of view, i rather have a quality product than an original but poorly made product, very seldom this will happen though. This time the bootleg and the real are identical so i guess this still alright. The eri figure seems to have flaws when compared to the original, so careful when buying products.

I can't determine if the Yakumo bootleg looks any different, as I've not seen it up close.

Though I myself, have yet to run into a fake (having acquired 2 myself) that is as flawless as it's authentic original.
Fakes also tend to have poor paint quality, that can chip, fade or even be scraped off.

And, yes, the new fakes are pretty well done, which makes them hard to herd out from the real deal, but the flaws are typically pretty glaring.

The sticker on the box was zeroed in on at the forum, because it's was a completely wrong sticker.

Also it was important to determine if the bootleggers were indeed producing fake stickers, and we found that this is now happening.

This is not a good thing for the anime figure market :(

Here is a comparison of a typical fake against the authentic product, if you wish to see one:

Thanks lilika ;) for those links- very interesting indeed!
i've stopped shopping on the internet since there're plenty of decent figurines shops where i live and i really can't be bothered to pay for the shipping anymore.
My next target is the Eri figurine by Alter.

Picked up this great figure on ebay a few days ago

Mine has a different sticker on compared to the above so I checked out those links above only to find out the 3 topics are locked/deleted.

Found this follow up though

Seems like theres two legitimate sticker types to watch for
